It is believed that this is the very first mosque built in Fuvahmulah. This mosque is located around 500 ft away from Havitha, north eastern side of the island.
The mosque is built from coral stones. This is a mosque that portrays extraordinary skills of craftsmanship of Fuvahmulah. Although maintenance works have been conducted, the main structure of the mosque is intact, specially the doors.
The shrine in the mosque compound is also built from corals. Abu Bakr Naaib of Addu atoll, who was believed to have converted the inhabitants of the island to Islam, was buried here.
There is also a well located adjacent to the mosque. It is also built from corals. There is a small well inside the main well.
